We are proud to be working with a well-established law firm in Tavistock who are looking to bring on a Private Client Solicitor/Lawyer to join the highly regarded team. With a proud history dating back to the 1800s, the firm has built a strong reputation across West Devon, South East Cornwall and beyond, with many clients returning to the firm generation after generation. They are now looking for a motivated and client-focused lawyer to join their growing Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own caseload within a genuinely supportive environment, working closely with clients and helping to build long-term relationships. You'll have the opportunity to develop your expertise, contribute to the continued growth of the department and play an important role within the wider firm.
Responsibilities:
- Managing your own varied Private Client caseload and delivering a high standard of client care.
- Drafting Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Advising clients on Inheritance Tax and estate planning.
- Managing estate and trust administration matters.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and third-party referrers.
- Taking responsibility for your own fee-earning work, including billing and cash flow.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA requirements and the firm's internal policies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using the firm's case management system.
- Contributing to business development and supporting the continued growth of the Private Client department.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and identifying opportunities for cross-referral.
- Continuing to develop your legal expertise and professional skills.
About you:
- A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive ideally with 2-5 years' in Private Client.
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of Private Client matters.
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Comfortable managing your own caseload while also working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good IT and case management skills.
- STEP or SFE accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A full, clean driving licence would be beneficial as there may be some requirement to travel to clients.
