We are currently recruiting for an experienced Personal Injury Fee Earner to join a well-established claimant firm within its Intermediate Track and Multi-Track team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident litigator to manage a varied caseload while working within a supportive and client-focused environment. You will manage a caseload of predominantly Intermediate Track Employer’s Liability, Public Liability and RTA claims, with some exposure to Multi-Track matters. Files will be handled from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, including litigated cases. The work is carried out within a largely fixed-fee environment, so the successful candidate will need to be commercially aware, organised, and comfortable working to time recording and financial performance targets.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of approximately 70 claimant personal injury matters
- Handling claims through both pre-litigation and litigation stages
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and instructions to counsel
- Liaising with clients, insurers, experts, counsel and third-party solicitors
- Ensuring files progress efficiently using the firm’s case management system
- Identifying opportunities to maximise settlements and recoverable costs
- Building relationships with medical experts and other professionals
- Contributing to team discussions and supporting colleagues where required
About You:
- Proven experience handling claimant personal injury claims
- Experience managing Intermediate Track matters (EL/PL/RTA)
- Experience working within a fixed-fee caseload environment
- Practising rights (or the ability to obtain them within a reasonable timeframe)
- A strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation process
- Excellent negotiation and settlement skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain performance targets
