An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced legal professional to join a specialist personal injury team handling fast track claimant matters. The successful candidate will manage a busy caseload of personal injury claims from instruction through to conclusion, including litigated matters, while delivering high standards of client care and legal representation. This role is suited to a qualified solicitor or legal executive with proven experience in claimant personal injury litigation who is confident managing cases independently and progressing matters efficiently through both pre-litigation and litigation stages. Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 100 - 120 fast track personal injury claims from instruction through to conclusion.
- Progress matters through all pre-litigation stages using the firm’s case management systems.
- Conduct liability and quantum investigations, including obtaining witness statements and supporting evidence.
- Liaise with clients, insurers, medical experts, counsel, and third-party solicitors in a professional and timely manner.
- Conduct litigation, including drafting pleadings, instructing counsel, complying with court directions, and progressing claims toward settlement or trial where appropriate.
- Retain conduct of files throughout the litigation process in compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate file management and time recording in line with departmental and financial performance targets.
- Provide regular updates and reports to supervising team members as required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, experts, counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Support the wider team with general litigation and case progression tasks where necessary.
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) with a current practising certificate.
- Proven experience independently handling claimant personal injury matters, including litigated claims.
- Strong working knowledge of the MOJ Portal and pre-litigation processes.
- Solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation procedures.
- Excellent communication and client-care skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise a high-volume caseload and work effectively to strict deadlines.
- Sound negotiation and settlement skills.
- Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a wider team.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to achieving positive client outcomes.
- Experience managing litigated personal injury matters through to resolution - not essential.
- Good tactical understanding of working within a fixed-fee litigation environment - not essential.
