A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a highly regarded Family Care team in a forward-thinking law firm in Plymouth. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the legal sector either as a paralegal. In this role you will assist fee earners across the full lifecycle of care proceedings - from early local authority involvement and PLO through to final hearings, as well as supporting on Special Guardianship and related applications. The role involves regular contact with vulnerable clients in emotionally sensitive situations and therefore, the ability to communicate clearly, remain composed under pressure and demonstrate empathy is essential. You will benefit from working in a team of dedicated professionals who will encourage you to grow within the team and take real ownership of tasks.
Skills & Experience Sought:
- An enthusiastic paralegal with experience and/or interest in family care law
- Experienced in submitting legal aid applications/amendments
- Experienced in using the court portals
- Personable and approachable
- Able to work in a team environment
- Commercially aware
- Prioritises good client service and attention to detail
