We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Private Wealth lawyer to join a highly regarded Trusts & Estates team as a Knowledge Lawyer, based in Bristol with occasional travel to the Exeter office, on a part-time basis (3 - 4 days per week). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into a non-fee earning role, or an existing Professional Support/Knowledge Lawyer looking for a new challenge within a respected and collaborative team. Working closely with both the Trusts & Estates and Knowledge Management teams, you will play a key role in ensuring fee earners have access to the latest legal developments, technical resources and best practice guidance. The Trusts & Estates team is well established and advises individuals, families and business owners on a broad range of private wealth matters, including succession planning, trusts, estate administration, tax planning and wealth preservation.
Responsibilities:
- Providing knowledge and training support to the Trusts & Estates department on non-contentious matters.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and ensuring the team remains up to date with changes in law and market practice.
- Preparing and delivering training sessions, updates and briefings for fee earners.
- Producing, reviewing and maintaining precedents, templates, guidance notes and internal protocols.
- Supporting the development and management of knowledge resources across the department.
- Working closely with colleagues across the firm to promote knowledge sharing and best practice.
- Building strong working relationships with colleagues across both the Bristol and Exeter offices.
About you:
- A qualified and experienced Private Wealth lawyer with strong technical knowledge of trusts, estates and related tax matters.
- Previous experience as a Knowledge Lawyer, Professional Support Lawyer or a strong interest in moving into a knowledge-focused role.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of a firm.
- Highly organised with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, self-motivated and keen to support the development of others through training and knowledge sharing.
- Detail-oriented with a practical approach to developing systems, processes and resources.
- Collaborative and approachable, with a genuine interest in supporting colleagues and delivering excellent client outcomes.
