A highly regarded, top 100 UK law firm is looking for an experienced Construction Lawyer, ideally with 8+ years’ PQE, to join them as a Knowledge Lawyer to support its established and growing Construction team. This is a dedicated, non-fee-earning role within the firm’s Knowledge Management team, providing strategic knowledge and training support to the Construction group. You will play a key part in maintaining high technical standards across the team and supporting the delivery of consistent, commercially sound advice. This role can be based in either Bristol or Exeter and offers flexibility on a full-time or part-time basis. The Construction team advises on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious construction matters, acting for a diverse client base across the public and private sectors. Clients include developers, contractors, consultants, funders and public bodies, with work spanning regional, national and international projects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and analysing developments in construction law, including case law, legislation and market practice
- Translating legal developments into clear, practical guidance for fee earners
- Producing, maintaining and enhancing precedents, templates, guidance notes and internal protocols
- Delivering legal updates, briefings and training sessions
- Identifying knowledge gaps
- Working closely with partners and fee earners to align knowledge resources with client needs
Skills & Experience sought:
- Experienced construction lawyer, ideally 8+ PQE
- Excellent technical knowledge with the ability to provide commercially focused, practical guidance
- A proactive and organised approach, with strong project management skills
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in building working relationships
