HR Manager - Plymouth

One of Plymouth’s most progressive and forward-thinking law firms is looking to recruit an HR Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious firm with significant growth plans over the coming years. The firm prides itself on a strong, established culture rooted in its core values and is looking for a dedicated HR Manager with previous experience in a senior HR role to lead and drive HR operations, culture, and talent development across the business. The successful candidate will be key in supporting growth, enhancing engagement, and ensuring that HR is not just a support function, but a strategic partner in the firm’s success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, policy maintenance, and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
  • Champion the firm’s culture, values, and employee engagement.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Oversee training, development, and career progression initiatives.
  • Manage staff benefits, health, and wellbeing programmes.
  • Lead staff surveys, analyse results, and implement action plans.
  • Coordinate recruitment events and external talent initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and provide insights to the Managing Partner and leadership team.

 

About you:

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, and HR systems/databases.
  • Track record in designing and embedding HR strategies, policies, and cultural initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A problem-solver who can operate independently and as part of a leadership team.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management at all levels of an organisation.
