One of the South West’s leading law firms is seeking an experienced Employment and HR Consultant to join their Employment and HR team in Bristol on a part-time basis (3.5 days per week). The role sits within a specialist HR Consultancy, providing advisory support to clients via an advice-line service on a range of employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters, performance management, long-term sickness absence and redundancies. You will deliver clear, practical HR advice by phone and email, support the drafting and review of HR documentation and policies, and build trusted client relationships. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ HR or employee relations experience, ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified, and be confident managing cases independently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the consultancy through sharing insights and supporting continuous improvement. Core working days include Sunday (half day) and Monday, with flexibility alongside varied and rewarding HR casework.
Experience and skills required:
- At least 3 years’ experience in an HR or employee relations role
- Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience advising on employee relations matters end to end
- Confident providing clear, practical HR advice via telephone and email
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing a busy caseload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Discreet, professional and client-focused, with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
