This is a brilliant opportunity to join a genuinely supportive firm that's building something exceptional. If you're looking to join a firm that values fairness, takes a genuine interest in you as a person - not just the numbers you're billing - and offers real flexibility because they understand that work has to fit alongside real life, then this could be the opportunity for you.

We are looking for an experienced Property Solicitor who specialises in Ecclesiastical property matters to join a forward-thinking, progressive firm in either their Chippenham or Salisbury offices. In this role, you will manage a varied caseload of property matters relating to churches, church land and associated assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of ecclesiastical property transactions, including the sale and acquisition of land, church buildings and clergy housing.
  • Investigating and establishing title to land using historic deeds and other documentation, identifying and resolving complex title issues where required.
  • Advising on and resolving complex property matters involving multiple church-related charities, trusts and ecclesiastical bodies.
  • Handling a wide range of commercial property transactions, including the grant of leases, lease renewals, extensions, variations and surrenders.
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on easements, rights of way, restrictive covenants and other property rights.
  • Providing expert legal advice on boundary disputes, land ownership issues and parish property matters relating to churches, churchyards, church halls and other ecclesiastical land.
  • Ensuring property transactions comply with the relevant statutory and ecclesiastical legal frameworks while safeguarding the interests of the Church and its associated bodies.

About you:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive.
  • Extensive experience working on varied Ecclesiastical property matters.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters effectively.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid working following training.
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Extended Christmas break
  • An extra day off for your birthday
  • Private Health Care Plan and wellbeing initiatives
  • Regular social events to bring teams together
