Construction Solicitor 0-3 PQE - Exeter

An award-winning, modern-thinking and successful law firm in Exeter are looking for a Solicitor to join their Construction Litigation team, at the 0-3 PQE level. This role would benefit from some previous construction experience, however, we are very open to newly-qualified Solicitors to apply, without any prior construction experience, as the team can train and develop this knowledge. A training contract seat within another area of litigation would be highly desirable. With high-quality work and the chance to be a part of one of the most desirable law firms to work for, this is a great opportunity for a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive looking to take their career to the next level. The ideal candidate will have an intelligent approach and a proactive solution-focused approach. We are ideally after someone who is commercially aware and who can be a positive ambassador for the firm.

The firm offers one of the best cultures available within an Exeter law firm, while they also offer a solid benefits package with an excellent salary package and bonus. They put emphasis on their people's well-being, having introduced a number of ideas to the work week, including having regular Pilates sessions in the office, as well as having a table tennis table in the office for people to use. They also enjoy a number of other activities, including running sessions, "bake off" competitions and other events around the calendar. This is one of the most ambitious and forward-thinking firms in Exeter, with a team of people who are genuinely proud of the brand and the approach of the firm!

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts and associated documents
  • Assisting on non-contentious construction matters, including procurement and risk allocation
  • Supporting contentious matters such as adjudications and construction disputes
  • Advising a diverse client base including housing associations, developers, contractors and consultants
  • Managing your own matters with appropriate supervision and support

Skills and experience sought:

  • 0-3 years' plus PQE within construction law or just general litigation, if at the lower end of the PQE level
  • Someone who enjoys a modern team environment
  • You will have the ability to enhance the firm's clients’ experience through the delivery of exceptional client service
