We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate (3-6 years' PQE) specialising in contentious construction law, to join a forward-thinking firm, in a highly regarded Construction and Infrastructure team, based in Bristol. The successful candidate will have a typical workload that includes construction and infrastructure related dispute work involving court litigation, adjudication, arbitration, mediation and other forms of ADR relating to disputes over payment, delays, defects, professional negligence together with advice on contract management and dispute mitigation strategies.
With plenty of variety, you’ll typically advise on a wide range of construction projects, including commercial development, utilities, renewable energy, residential, operation/maintenance/service contracts and facilities management. The clients you'll be working with range from funding institutions and large multinationals to local authorities and contract and developers. You'll be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Construction department, as well as other teams such as Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial and Planning, to ensure the high quality service.
Skills & Experience sought:
- Excellent communication skills and be able to build strong, long-lasting relationships with clients
- You will have experience in a variety of construction based disputes or claims and, in addition to litigation, you may have been involved in adjudications, arbitrations and expert determinations
- You will be responsive and provide accessible, commercial, and pragmatic advice to clients
- Be 3-6 years' PQE
