We are looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Clinical Negligence Legal Professional to join a growing and highly regarded Clinical Negligence team at a specialist law firm. This is a predominantly remote opportunity, although the successful candidate will need to be willing to travel across the South Coast region to attend client meetings and appointments where required. The role has been created due to the continued growth and expansion of the team. You will support on a varied caseload of complex Clinical Negligence matters, assisting clients through sensitive and often challenging circumstances. The successful candidate will work closely with fee earners and medical experts on all aspects of claims, from initial instruction through to settlement and litigation where appropriate, whilst benefiting from exposure to high-quality and meaningful work within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the management of a caseload of Clinical Negligence matters
- Taking initial instructions from clients and preparing draft witness statements
- Preparing legal documentation including letters of claim, court documents and related correspondence
- Managing key dates and ensuring compliance with court timetables and procedural deadlines
- Liaising with clients, insurers, counsel, medical experts and other third parties
- Attending conferences with counsel and experts, both remotely and in person
- Supporting the progression of matters from commencement through to settlement or litigation
- Researching liability, quantum and other legal issues as required
- Using the firm’s case management system effectively and accurately
- Working collaboratively within the wider Clinical Negligence team whilst supporting financial and time recording targets
About you
- Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Fee Earner with strong Clinical Negligence experience
- Grade A or B fee earner
- Previous experience assisting with or managing Clinical Negligence matters
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and the Civil Procedure Rules
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex matters with professionalism
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently within a remote working environment whilst remaining a collaborative team member
- Commercial awareness and understanding of time recording and financial targets
- Willingness to travel throughout the South Coast area for client meetings and appointments
