Aspiria Legal are proud to be working with a progressive Top 100 law firm in the search for an Associate to join their highly regarded Clinical Negligence team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor with a particular interest in high-value and complex birth injury work to join a supportive and ambitious team, with a focus on assisting. You’ll have the opportunity to handle high-quality work, build strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting the development of more junior members of the team. The team handles a broad range of clinical negligence matters, from birth injury through to dental negligence, with a strong focus on delivering expert and empathetic advice to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Managing/Assisting a caseload of high-value and complex birth injury claims.
- Advising clients throughout their claims, managing expectations around options, outcomes, risks and timescales.
- Building strong and lasting client relationships and developing your own client profile.
- Managing complex matters effectively and delivering high-quality legal advice.
- Developing your market and sector knowledge and demonstrating expertise to clients.
- Proactively identifying and managing risk within your matters and supporting a strong risk culture across the team.
- Building and developing relationships with clients, intermediaries and professional contacts.
- Supporting, coaching and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
- Managing time recording, WIP and billing effectively.
- Working towards personal and team KPIs and contributing to the department’s wider strategic objectives.
About you:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' PQE.
- Strong experience in higher-value and complex birth injury litigation.
- Previous experience managing complex Clinical Negligence matters.
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills.
- Strong technical and organisational abilities, with the confidence to manage your own caseload.
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior lawyers.
- Commercially minded with an interest in developing your own client relationships and professional network.
- Collaborative, proactive and committed to delivering an excellent service to clients.
