We are proud to be working with a leading international law firm looking to recruit an Associate into its non-contentious construction team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-regarded team advising on high-value development and regeneration projects across the UK and internationally.
The team is known for its practical, commercially focused advice, particularly on mixed-use schemes, building safety, ESG-led developments, and data centre projects. You’ll work closely with experienced lawyers, advising a broad client base including developers, funders, contractors and investors, supporting matters across the full project lifecycle.
The role will involve advising on the negotiation of construction contracts (including standard JCT amendments), advising on appointments and warranties, provide construction due diligence, and contribute to the negotiation of development agreements. You'll support clients in managing construction risk, responding to legislative developments - including the evolving building safety framework - and delivering projects in line with commercial and sustainability priorities.
Skills and Experience Sought:
- Ideally 1-2 years’ PQE gained within a leading international, national or regional firm
- Strong experience in non-contentious construction, particularly within the real estate development sector
- A proactive, commercial and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload independently
